Yorkshire Business Services is the brainchild of Carol Buchan.
I am Carol Buchan of Yorkshire Business Services Ltd and I help my clients achieve their dreams and business goals. Everyone who starts a business and has had the guts to do so deserves the best possible help to achieve their ambition and dreams. It’s a lonely, confusing and frightening path with no one to turn to… Well there is someone out there who can help and that’s what we do.
I am an experienced Business Consultant with many years of working with the SME sector. Yorkshire Business services Limited is an accredited supplier to the Manufacturing Advisory service (MAS) and also to Business Link Yorkshire via their accredited supplier database. I am an Institute of Independent Business Associate and Advice North Associate. More importantly I have a successful Recruitment Business and Business Support Business – Yorkshire Business Services.
I am a successful change manager, line manager, consultant and coach, with a track record of achieving business change with rapid and sustainable improvement in performance.
I gained direct line management experience within a blue chip manufacturing company in the areas of: product management, manufacturing, materials and inventory management, warehousing, transport and distribution. This knowledge has been applied successfully in a consultancy role across many industries driving through change and results improvement. This has since been applied directly within a leading 3PL in a key account management role and use and development of new technology within transportation and directly in an ASP (application A service provider) new start up.
I then founded my own business and I have since been operating my own business providing Business Support and Change Management successfully to local businesses with an extensive network of professionals and services which can help ANY business problem you may have.
1 - EDUCATION: -
Carol Buchan is a graduate from Leeds University with a 1st Class Honours Science Degree and MBA. Her training continued in General Management training – Manufacturing Management Techniques and Processes, MRP, Logistics, FTA International Transport, and an MBA whilst working for ICL. Training continued at A T Kearney which led to lecturing on MRP and DRP at Coventry and key presenter at various Supply Chain Conferences.
2 - CAREER HISTORY: -
She has worked internationally for companies such as ICL, Exel Logistics and Speedchain in operational and management roles and for 4 years with A T Kearney as a Logistics and Supply Chain Consultant. She has worked at all levels of these companies from Senior Management to shop floor. With ICL she worked in warehouse, shop floor and logistics functions with a wide variety of management roles involving process change, moving sites, introduction of new systems and processes and across both product development and introduction through to spares and supply management worldwide for specific product groups. At Exel she lead the introduction of Central Transport Planning software from US based provided client server successfully leading to a major pilot in a £25M contract with 6 depots for Bass and the winning of a major contract for shared user for M&S. Also worked as Key Account Manager for the retail contract establishing central sortation and introduction of supplier stock control into the centre for store delivery.
3 - CORE SKILLS: -
Operational and change management across most areas of the the supply chain in a range of industries from automotive, food, clothing, process and transportation and many others. Key skills are the project management and successfully people and change management skills either as line management of project based – usually implementing new technology and tools and methods. This includes – Programme Management, Product Development, supply chain design and development, Just in Time(JIT), Kanban, , SMED(single minute exchange of dies), Kaizen, , Supplier development, Business Process Redesign(BPR), Management Training, Teambuilding, Business Transformation, Team Mobilisation, Operations Management, Manufacturing Resource Planning, Materials Requirements planning, interpersonal skills development, cultural change.
Carol in her role as Business Advisor to local businesses helps businesses with business plans, objectives, process improvements specifically financial and control systems across all areas of their business and applies best practice application and techniques with dramatic effects.
