Yorkshire Business Services - April 08 Newsletter

Helping You Succeed
Welcome to Helping You Succeed - the April 08 newsletter from Yorkshire Business Services.  In this issue………

Time for Rural Business to pick up the pace - a message from Daniel about the new support and direction for this business area – watch this space as we learn more.  We have a new section on Creating Connections – real business relationships which generate business.  Of course we have our Events section with details on the next Skipton event.  We also have great pleasure in featuring Cartridge World and demonstrating how we help you get your message across to your customers  As usual we have our information on Grants and useful links.

Time for Rural Business to pick up the pace

At the start of the month we were invited to attend the launch of the Rural Development Programme.  Hosted by Yorkshire Forward and with plenty of representation from Business Link it was a fascinating series of talks about the new initiatives for Rural and Rural-based businesses.

With so many opportunities available to new and existing businesses who fall into those two categories, now is definitely a great time to be moving your ideas and ventures forward with some business and financial support available through this programme. With a bit of help it can make the difference to get you up and running in no time, contact us to learn more and let us see if you qualify.

For example – information we received hot off the press last week.

  • The Farm Resource Efficiency Programme (FREP)
FREP is a small capital grants programme available to improve the overall economic performance of livestock holdings through the introduction of new technology to promote energy, manure and water resource efficiency. We anticipate the first application round will take place this summer with a deadline of early June, the date for which will be confirmed shortly.
  • How much is available?
Support can be paid at a rate of up to 40% against eligible expenditure; applications for grant investment should be for a minimum of £2,000 (i.e. minimum of a £5,000 capital investment) and a maximum of £20,000 (£50,000 capital investment).  If your costs exceed £50,000, £20,000 remains the ceiling.

If you or anybody you know has a business idea and wants to get that idea up and running, then the first step is to call us and see what we can do.

So many business plans are put on the shelf because of time constraints or lack of the correct advice and of course finance. We will help you with all these issues and more.

  • Forestry
  • Farm Building Conversions
  • Collaborations
  • Creative Industries
  • Renewable Energy
  • Agriculture
  • Horticultural
  • Agriculture Support
  • Food and Drink
  • Farm Diversification

These are some of the industries we are actively seeking to support, however if you have a sound idea talk to us and let’s get your new project up and running.

I have spent most of my life in the countryside, raised on a Farm and then working as a Dry Stone Waller, so to me this project is a continuation of my commitment to and belief in Rural Business Issues.

Help me to help these and any other businesses that you may know of.

Creating Connections

Referral Marketing and Business Networking groups are on the rise and it’s difficult to know where to start.  We are not a membership group but we are about building BUSINESS COMMUNITIES.  To support this for the businesses we work with and that have attended events we have developed the Community Connections – we feature your business and provide information on what you do and how to get in contact.  This month we are featuring Frank Greaves from Cartridge world.  Did you know that Cartridge World is a recycling business!!! There is no need to throw all those ink cartridges in the bin – take them along to Frank and he will recycle them – for your business he will provide a recycling collection point.  You then have the choice to buy new or recycled and Frank can tell you the benefits.

Take a look at the feature on Frank and do contact him to see how he can help your business save time and money – and avoid running out of Cartridges – while learning about effective recycling.

Promote Your Business within Our Community

You can reach our own community of thousands of Yorkshire based businesses.

We give you an area of our www.yorkshirebusinessservices.com website within which to promote your work, what you do and how you do it well.

You get to have your details included in our emails to clients and to reach new prospects and suppliers and customers this way.

Call us now to get the benefits of raising your profile and making more connections within our YBS business community.

Cartridge World - Frank Greaves

If ink is the most expensive commodity on earth, why would you throw it away?

Frank Greaves

Each of us as business owners uses ink to get our message across to clients and prospects alike.  Whether in a print format message via a catalogue or sales letter, or in a hand penned invite to a special event.  Even with electronic messages sent via email we occasionally print off a set of notes or PDF to help us remember information.

With Cartridge World franchise operations in Halifax and Skipton town centres Frank Greaves is a man on a mission to help you make best value from your ink and printer consumables.

His experience in reducing your ink consumption and getting you a better return on the usage of print output gives a strong message and rich advantages to dealing with his operations.  Frank is a regular attendee at Yorkshire Business Services events and well informed on all matters relating to your own consideration of the recycling of print and ink product outputs.

Learn more from Frank about how you can benefit from print cartridge and toner delivery to your premises.  Invite him to help you start an effective recycling project for your office, business or school community.  Ask for his printer audit service to look at how you can get a better return on your use of inks.

Make contact with Cartridge World in Skipton or Halifax and begin to reap the multiple benefits of dealing directly with Frank and his team.  cwhalifax@cartridgeworld.co.uk or text or call Frank on 07771-637358.
